Crossfit Total
[info]lordarmor
The usual trio of maxouts. Couldn't channel any appreciable amounts of anger today.

1) Back Squat - 185lbs. Lord Armour really needs to work on his form, so he went light, practiced going deeper. This is the highest weight Lord Armour feels he did with strong form.

2) Shoulder Press - 130lbs. This is a step down from Lord Armour's PR awhile back. Just couldn't get 135 up today.

3) Deadlift - 315 lbs. (PR) Coming hot off Lord Armour's recent victory over gravity, added another 10 lbs to the record.

800m x 4
[info]lordarmor
Around 2 miles when all is said and done, taking breaks at each 1/2 mile.

1 = 3'32"
2 = 3'21"
3 = 3'21"
4 = 3'21"

This occured on the treadmill, hence the precision timing three rounds in a row.

A little on the easy side, really.

WoD-Michael

Sir Michael of Hiptopomus is known for swinging wildly about the hip area, buffeting his opponents with impressive stamina and gyrations.

800 meter run
35 back extensions
35 sit-ups

WoD-Deadlift, max-outs
[info]lordarmor
It's a good day to deadlift. Newly moustachioed, Lord Armour felt like a circus strongman.

Fueled by the pain of love lost and the hair on his upper lip, Lord Armour summoned all his might, focusing on the Herculean task of picking an object up 3 feet off the ground.

225lbs (no problem)
245 (harder, but a long way to go)
265 (Hurrgh)
285 (yeooooooch)
295 (RAAAAAAAAAAAH)
305 (Personal Record)
315 (fail)

WoD-Tabata Something Else
[info]lordarmor
Lord Armour does not know what a tabata is, but he assumes it's some kind of exotic weapon on a chain.

It's also:

32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. The intervals are broken down thus:

8 intervals of pull-ups
8 " " push-ups
8 " " sit-ups
8 " " squats

Alas, Lord Armour wussed out of the sit-ups due to a nasty rug burn on his lower back sustained during a previous bout of sit-ups.

Here's the result, in reps:

Pull-ups: 6, 4, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 (the last five involved much impotent straining and aborted ascents.)
Push-ups: 20, 16, 10, 5, 4, 5, 3, 3 (10 secs is not much recovery time. Burned out fairly quickly.)
Squats: 11, 11, 9, 10, 10, 8, 10, 11 (Lord Armour's legs did not fatigue all that quickly)

Sunday 5.2K
[info]lordarmor
Lord Armour's forge is closed on Sundays, so when that day happens to coincide with a workout day, he puts on his sweating greaves and takes to the trails.

Time: 34'59"

WoD-Sit ups & walking lunges
[info]lordarmor
Lord Armour continues to be impressed by the simple, elegant brutality of the walking lunge. Sometimes a club is better suited for a task than a bec de corbin. *belly laugh*

4 rounds of:

50 yds. walking lunges
50 sit-ups

Time: 24'53"

WoD- Weighted Pull-ups
[info]lordarmor
Today Lord Armour addresses a question of deadly import. How much armor can Lord Armour safely wear whilst dangling from a precipice? Or, more appropriately, how much damsel can Lord Armour safely have dangling from his waist after a thrilling bout of cliff sex goes horribly, horribly awry.

For reference:

1 Lord Armour Unit (LAU) = 191 lbs.

LAU + 10lbs.
LAU + 15lbs.
LAU + 20lbs.
LAU + 25lbs.
LAU + 35lbs. (fail)
LAU + 35lbs. (fail)
LAU + 30lbs. (PR)

Hmmmm. That's a very small wench. Since Lord Armour is neither acquainted with any gnomes, nor does he violate age of consent laws, it appears that the wench would need to be jettisoned in the above scenario. Pity.

Alive!
[info]lordarmor
Woe.

Lord Armor has been beset by it, touched beneath his greave by its careless, wanton fingers. You see, he was overcome by the wiles of a nymph seductress who promised him untold pleasures of the flesh if he'd but take off his armor. And, Lord Armor is ashamed to confess, that is what he did.

He frolicked in the woods with the nymph and, for a time, Lord Armor forgot all about stomping around in mighty plates and crushing the skulls of peasants. Ah, but the nymph was a fickle creature and soon Lord Armor was left alone in the woods, without his armor, with nothing to eat but the fruit of the hamburger bush. And he ate, oh, did he eat.

But he has remembered. Oh yes, Lord Armor did not forget his purpose for long, his true calling.

I LIVE AGAIN!

WoD-10K
[info]lordarmor
Lord Armour took leave to move his corporeal residence, but he is never long gone from Toil Manor. Take heed, peasants.

Rural route, infrequent hills.
Light rain: with the application of nipple armor to prevent a most unpleasant friction injury, rain goes a long way towards abating overheating.

Time: 1 hr 02 min 43 sec

This is around the same pace Lord Armour has been running 5Ks, albeit on a more hilly and traffic-laden route. It suggests Lord Armour could probably put a little more oomph into his 5Ks.

WoD-5K

WoD-Filthy 50 (35)
[info]lordarmor
Ah, the infamous Filthy Fifty super circuit. Lord Armour has only done this once before, when he first started Crossfit.

35 Box Jumps
35 Jumping Pull-ups
35 Kettleball swings, 1 pood
35 Steps, walking lunge
35 Ab-Mat Sit-ups
35 Push presses, 45lbs.
35 Back extensions
35 Wall ball shots
35 Burpees
35 Jump rope revolutions

Time: 35'01"

Lost some time transitioning between the box jumps (outside using a wall) to the rest, which were indoors. Held up pretty well until the wall ball shots and struggled through the burpees. The ab-mat situps seem pretty effective.

Saturday custom WoD
[info]lordarmor
Lord Armour was away at a hotel for the weekend. He felt he/crossfit had been neglecting his ample man breasts, so he put together this little number he calls "Gudmunder."

Four rounds of:

15 bench presses, #135
10 burpees
800 meter run

Could probably use a little tweaking (probably more burpees), but it did a number on the chest, as desired.

WoD-Sprinty Squats (Scaled)
[info]lordarmor
3 rounds of:
400 meter run
50 squats

Time: 14'56"

Wouldn't call this one "easy," but Lord Armour believes he could have done the Rx version (one more round of the above).

WoD-Shoulder Pyramid
[info]lordarmor
This was an interesting one, wherein Lord Armour attempted to build a monument to the immortality of his shoulders. Starting with low-rep high isolation, progressing to higher-rep, lower isolation.

Shoulder Press
115lbs x1
125 x1
135 x1
140 x1 (Personal Record)
145 (fail)

Finally broke 135lb. on this exercise. Almost got 145 up, but couldn't fully extend the elbows.

Push Press (essentially a shoulder press with some leg-assisted acceleration)
125lbs. x3
135 x3
145 x3
155 x2, fail on 3
150 x2, fail on 3

Even with the leg assistance, the shoulders were running out of steam toward the end of these sets. Unfortunately, there still was more to go.

Push Jerk (essentially a shoulder press with an explosive amount of leg assistance)
125lbs. x5
135 x5
145 x4 (fail on 5)
140 x4 (fail on 5)
135 x5

So the legs launched the arms up to the halfway point easily enough, but the second half of the extensions were still brutal this late in the game.

Conclusion: shoulders still not immortal.

WoD-Badger (Scaled)
[info]lordarmor
MUSHROOM, MUSHROOM!

3 rounds of:
30 squat cleans, 55lbs.
30 pull-ups (mixed regulars and assisted)
800 meter (1/2 mile) run

Result: Aborted after second round due to running late for work.

Badger feels a lot like "Eva" in reverse, which means its time consuming and a good winding even after two rounds. The wrist held up pretty well.
